HMC Emergency Departments to Remain Open During Eid

Wednesday, June 13, 2018

Gulf Times -- All emergency and inpatient services across Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) network of hospitals will operate round-the-clock during the Eid al-Fitr holidays, it was announced.

“Every day across our hospital network our teams deliver high quality care to many thousands of patients, and this Eid will be no different,” HMC’s Chief Communications Officer, Ali Abdullah al-Khater and Chairman of the Healthcare Communications Committee, said.

He stressed that outpatient departments will close for the four days of Eid, but clinical teams across HMC’s hospitals will continue to provide the highest levels of patient care in emergency departments and across many essential services throughout the holiday period.

“On behalf of everyone at HMC, I would like to wish you and your family a safe and healthy Eid Mubarak,” Al-Khater added.

The Heart Hospital (for cardiac patients only) and the National Centre for Cancer Care and Research’s (NCCCR) Urgent Care Centre (for patients with symptoms associated with ongoing cancer treatments) will operate as per normal timings.

Dialysis services will also operate as per normal timings, as well as Paediatric Emergency Clinics, which will remain open round-the-clock for medical emergencies involving patients under the age of 14 years.

All outpatient departments (OPD) will be closed from today (June 13) and will re-open on June 19. When OPD clinics are open, they will be supported by administrative and clinical support services, including pharmacies.

The NCCCR’s Radiotherapy Unit will remain open during its regular hours (7:00 am to 3:00 pm), Sunday to Thursday. The Day Care Unit will be closed from June 15 to 17 while the Dermatology Clinic will be open from June 20 to 21 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Patients requiring information about clinic operating hours, scheduled appointments, or wishing to change their appointment, can call the Hamad Customer Service Centre (Nesma’ak) on 16060.

Nesma’ak will be closed on from June 15 to 17 and will re-open on June 18 at 8:00 am, remaining open until 7:00 pm. Its operating hours from June 18 to 21 will be from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm with regular operating hours resuming on June 22.
