The Peninsula -- The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) launched on Sunday a project that will help upgrade and make about 300 services available online under its digitization program.
The initiative is part of a major project by the ministry, implemented under Qatar e-Government 2020 Strategy.
The project will be implemented in 27 months in five phases continuously, Hamda al-Ma’did, Director of the Information Systems Department, said, while speaking at the launching ceremony of the project.
She added that initially, under the project more than 300 services will be upgraded in several sectors. “Today we launched the project of phase one and its time-frame is two months,” al-Ma’did noted.
The project aims at developing services provided by the Ministry and making them available through a single portal on cell phones and other digital devices to save time and effort for both employees and citizens.
This is one of the most important strategic projects being implemented by the Ministry as part of its strategic plan based on Qatar National Vision 2030, al-Ma’did added. The project is based on Qatar e-Government 2020 Strategy made by e-government committee (formed by the decision of the Prime Minister in 2013 and amended in 2016), which aims to make available services provided by the ministries and government organizations online.
