Meteorology Dept. Warns of Thunder Rain with Strong Wind, High Sea

The Peninsula -- Weather inshore until 6:00 pm on Saturday will have scattered clouds to become partly cloudy at times, with a chance of light rain at places at times, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report.

Offshore, it will be partly cloudy to cloudy with a chance of scattered rain maybe thundery at times, the report added, warning of expected thunder rain associated with strong wind and high sea.

Wind inshore will be mainly southeasterly 08 to 18 knot, reaching 22 knot at places at times. Offshore, it will be southeasterly to easterly 10 to 20 knot, reaching 35 knot during thunder rain. Visibility will be 04 to 08 kilometer.

Sea state inshore will be 2 to 4 feet rises to 5 feet during thunder rain. Offshore will be 4 to 6 feet rises to 13 feet during thunder rain.
