Woqod Opens Two New Petrol Stations
The Peninsula -- Woqod opened two new petrol stations at Al Kharaitiyat and Al Thumama today, taking its total number of petrol stations in the country to 72.
Al Kharaitiyat is spread over an area of 11,300 square meters and has three lanes with nine dispensers that will serve Al Kharaitiyat and its neighborhood.
Al Thumama-2 is spread over an area of 7000 square meters and has three lanes with nine dispensers that will serve Al Thumama and its neighborhood.
Woqod’s CEO, Saad Rashid al-Muhannadi, said, “We are pleased to open two new fixed petrol stations in Al Kharaitiyat and Al Thumama. Woqod aspires to expand its petrol station network in the country to meet the rising demand for petroleum products and achieve the goal of providing customers with access to best-in-class products and services at their convenience and comfort.”
Woqod has recently accelerated the process for the construction of new petrol station and will announce the opening of more petrol stations during this month to meet the fuel and energy needs of the country.”
Al-Muhannadi added that the two new petrol stations, which will offer round-the-clock services to customers, include Sidra convenience store, manual car wash, oil change and tire repair, sale of LPG cylinders, in addition to sale of petrol and diesel products for light vehicles.
Al-Muhannadi further added that Woqod is currently constructing 25 petrol stations, and most of these projects are expected to be operational this year itself. He explained that Woqod has currently seven new stations in the tendering phase and 16 stations in the design phase, assuring that next week will witness opening of two more fixed petrol stations.
Woqod also opened one mobile station in Al Wakra for petrol. The company is targeting to have a total of 120 stations by the end of 2020.
